When visiting this website, the following data is automatically collected and stored on TU Chemnitz servers for a maximum of 30 days:

These data have a personal reference due to the combination of time and IP address, but are necessary to identify potential disruptors and thus ensure trouble-free operation. This information primarily serves the technical and editorial further development.

BirdNET data services

Some pages load content directly from BirdNET servers operated by TU Chemnitz (birdnet.cornell.edu and birdnet.tu-chemnitz.de): current observation statistics on the BirdNET App page, and species images on the BirdNET App page, in the browser demo, and in the projects map. Your browser transmits your IP address and technical request data to these servers. This data is used only to deliver the requested content. Audio that you analyze in the browser demo is processed entirely in your browser and is not uploaded.

Legal basis

The legal basis for the processing described in the sections Hosting, Access statistics, and BirdNET data services is Art. 6(1)(e) and (3) GDPR in conjunction with Section 3 of the Saxon Data Protection Implementation Act (SächsDSDG): providing this website and its services and ensuring their secure operation is part of the public tasks of TU Chemnitz in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer.

Projects map (OpenStreetMap)

Our projects map displays map tiles from OpenStreetMap, provided by the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF), United Kingdom, via a global network of cache servers. The map is only loaded after you click “Accept and Load Map”. Your browser then requests the map tiles directly from OpenStreetMap’s servers and transmits your IP address, browser information (user agent), and the address of the page you are viewing (referrer) to the OSMF. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so that the map loads automatically on later visits; you can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting the stored site data in your browser. Data stored in your browser

This website does not use cookies or tracking technologies. It stores information in your browser's local storage only in two cases: your chosen language, if you select a language or open a link with a language setting, and your consent to load the projects map. This information remains on your device and can be deleted at any time in your browser settings. The legal basis is Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG, as this storage is strictly necessary to provide the function you requested.

Links to other websites

Links to other websites (for example GitHub, YouTube, or app stores) open in a new tab. No data is transmitted to these providers until you click such a link; after that, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.

Your rights
